Repurposing this site

After yesterday’s post, I have decided to repurpose this site, from “everyday ramblings” to a greater craft focus. To start that off, I am moving all the posts from the other site to here.

Those of you who monitor the RSS feed for this site will be inundated with posts today–sorry about that! The final post today will be an update on my current quilt projects. First things first, though.

Crafting blog

At the beginning of the year, I started a crafting blog elsewhere. I might move things over here, though, just to keep everything centralized. What do you think?

I’ve finally taken some time and altered the look of the site, and not just in an “oh, look! pretty new theme!” kind of way, either.. even if that is part of it. Things are still in process (I have to figure out how to make a 1×24-pixel gradient), but the list includes:

  • Pretty new WP theme (it’s called Tiga)
  • New avatar (with stunning likeness!) of me, with credit given in page footer
  • New background (undecided on whether I’ll keep this one)
  • New Flickr badge
  • New smart-alecky footer commentary

..and at some point, I’ll add content on a regular basis. It would help if I could talk about work (which is what I do all day, every day.. much like everyone else), but I can’t exactly blather on about what happens in my classroom. Obviously, I need to expand my horizons.

I did acquire a new camera recently. It’s a Kodak Z710. Lots of megapixels, lots of great features, a terrific manual (which I will read in-depth soon!), and the ability to capture video with sound. You can see the first set of photos I took with that camera here.

Maybe this will turn into a photo blog? I dunno. I just don’t have a clear purpose for the site yet, other than to be another outlet for creativity and a sandbox for learning.
