Yesterday, Steve and I went to 29th annualĀ Maine Quilts show at the Augusta Civic Center. I didn’t know what to expect, so all we did was a one-day pass.

In a word: overwhelming. There were a few hundred quilts, a few dozen vendors, and several hundred quilters (some with spouses and/or offspring in tow). Read the rest of this entry »

Since I moved the site to its new host, I have not had a photo gallery. At least, that is, until today. Only a few pictures right now, but it’ll grow quite a bit over the next weeks.

Visit the photo gallery here.

Whoa, still here!

Hopefully, updates here are not going to become a quarterly occurrence. :)

Since I last updated the site, I have become full-time employed as a math teacher here in town, which is excellent. School starts in just over a month! I can’t believe how time has flown.. either summer vacation is shorter now than when I was a kid, or my perception of time has changed. Whatever the case, I have not very much time to finish preparing for my first full year in the classroom!

We’re putting effort into the house, too. Our spare time is spent cleaning, moving things around, and redecorating. So far, the only room that’s close to finished is the bathroom (all it needs is a dark green bath mat), but we have plans for all the other rooms, too. Plans that involve blue tape, rollers, and gallons of paint…!

Let’s see. Summer has been nice so far. I’ve been able to do some traveling, both alone and with my husband. Things started with a trip home for my grandfather’s funeral. All things considered, it was a fun trip, and I really enjoyed seeing my family again after two-plus years without. I also spent time with my “niece”, little miss V, and her parents. (You can read more about them at nonnac.com.) And we’ve spent the last two weekends (in part and in whole, respectively) in New Brunswick.

I’m getting back into quilting, after a several-month hiatus. I need to post pictures here, and will do so soon.

I’m also beading. I have a budding beading store at Etsy.com, which is also sorely in need of update. Mostly, I work with glass, stones, pewter, and silver, and all the designs I’m selling have come out of my imagination. Hooray for original work! There’s too little of that these days.

That’s it for this update, it looks like. More soon!
